We live about ninety minutes from the Port of Galveston, and we've sailed out of it on Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, MSC Cruises, Disney Cruise Line and Princess Cruises.

That matters more than it sounds like it should.

When you call a national booking site, you get someone reading the same brochure you already read. When you work with us, you get someone who has stood in the terminal parking lot in August, knows which ships feel crowded and which don't, and has walked the decks of the ship you're considering.

I'm Kim Gregg, co-owner of Easy Cruising Travel. My partner Holly and I have been planning cruises since 2016, and Galveston is our home port too.

If you live anywhere in the Houston area, the math is hard to argue with.

No airfare. For a family of four, flying to Fort Lauderdale or Miami can add $1,600 or more before anyone sets foot on a ship.

No flight-day panic. The single most stressful part of a Florida cruise is the flight that gets delayed and makes you miss embarkation. Driving removes that risk entirely.

You can pack properly. No baggage fees, no liquid restrictions, no weighing suitcases. Bring the cooler, bring the extra shoes.

No pre-cruise hotel night. Most cruise advisors will tell you to fly in a day early, and they're right — that's another night of hotel and meals. From Magnolia, you can leave in the morning and be on the ship for lunch.

I'd rather lose a booking than send you on the wrong trip.

Galveston is a fantastic home port for the Western Caribbean — Cozumel, Costa Maya, Roatán, Belize, Grand Cayman, Jamaica. But sailing days out of the Gulf mean more time at sea than a Florida departure, and Galveston can't reach the Eastern Caribbean or the Bahamas efficiently.

So if you want St. Thomas, St. Maarten, the Bahamas, a 3-night quick trip, or Alaska and Europe — flying is the right call, and I'll book that trip for you just as happily.

Honest advice is the whole job.
